Flat Cap and Whippet Logo

I collaborated with a new Scenic Carpentery Company to work on their logo.

Seeing it come out of the printers was such a lovely moment and even the printer did an approving nod of the type and dog together.

Villians - Character Building

When you have an 8 year old boy the conversation can sometimes run to dragons, monsters and vehicles very quickly. When asking "Why have you flung your toothbrush via catapult to the sink?" expect a well thought out excuse. Well story makers come in all shape and sizes and my little man is one excellent teller of tales.

Another of his skills is drawing with me.

We worked on his Villains this week which has become just as infectious for myself as him.

Why did I never think of this before?

2764 -The Haunted Crusader

5620 - The Lonely Outlaw
8025 - Sinsnare (The Snake)
1035- YOKI
8445 - Clawdon

Road to Macmillan

This week my house has been littered with pages from my Macmillan's Children's Book Competition entry. So, so much paperwork I could have swum in it!
The dummy was on its 11th or 12th reincarnation and it was quite a journey that got it there. I had feedback and evaluations, support and shrugs and yesterday I handed it in with it's full colour papers and a soggy looking form.

Fingers crossed until 22nd May

Full colour way

Ready to go.

A to Z

Lo The A to Z
Of Unrequited Love

I started this project many many moons ago. When I was visiting my Parents in the pride lands, as in up north, and inspiration struck mid sentence.

For a long old while it stayed in the sketchbook and was joined by a series of letters. Of course I had completely worked out all the images (Apart from H, M and Z which are hard)

During the merry month of November I decided i'd release them to my follows on social media as a little Christmas countdown - 25 days, 26 letters GENIUS.

You lot didn’t get them because although I had done A and B oh and X and Y I hadn’t fully completed any of the others.

Any who I went on with my plan regardless and quickly every night (or every morning) I edited and created a new image for that day. Some would say what madness! Why not get fully prepared or wait for New Year but Meh - I do love a challenge.

To see the full set have a look at my Facebook Page

Or wait for me to have a minute to upload them here

Ruby Slippers and Their Friends

In the exhibition I had a wall dedicated to shoes
because
well
shoes!

Everyone loves shoes and there are a few shoes which tell a tale or two...

I concentrated on the magical Ruby slippers of The Wizard of Oz, the groovy platforms Dr Franken Furter dominates The Rocky Horror Picture Show with and the Glass slippers of Cinderella.

Sort of the ones we all could do a bit of struting about in (hairbrush microphone is optional)

I exhibited these enormous beauties in handmade oak fames and the inks looked lovely, so lovely two of the originals sold in the first week.

Luckily I had managed to organise a selection of A3 prints. I have to say the prints came out way better than I had imagined ,being a newbie to all printer artwork I was a little nervous.

Forgotten Today I Feel Like... Exhibition

How did I forget to upload these?
I think I might have had some sort of blog/brain misfunction late last year where I truly forgot to upload so much work.

So in September I did a little exhibition titled Today I feel like ...
The idea was to try and illustrate the smilies and phrases people use to describe the way they feel or what they would like in that one day.

I had just been on my enhanced course at CSM and I was excited to challenge my representational skills (if that is even a thing)

It's A Bad Hare Day

A Zombie

I'm Pulled In A Million Directions

A Big Bear Hug

I've Kissed Too Many Frogs

I Always Put My Big Foot In It

I've A Head Full Of Ideas

An Old Oak Tree

The Weight Of The World's On Me
All of the images were produced with coloured inks onto cartridge paper and some were A2 in size. The photos were taken in a bit of a hurry as I had just finished all the works and was perparing to wrap them up for my display. Nothing like a bit of last minute madness to keep you on your toes, eh?
