Press Release

“One day I woke up and thought I’ll draw today... and draw I did; with pen and ink, all day and all night. Couldn't stop in fact! My head full of characters with cheeky impressions and far away looks.”

Sharon is a Northern born new illustrator with a history in theatre design. Having trained at Central School of Speech and Drama she has lived and worked in Surrey for 10 years. Working under the pen name Creative Fox, Sharon’s recent adaptation to illustration follows her love to simply draw.

“Maybe it's a reflection of all the personalities I have met in my time in theatre or that deeply harassed looking mother in the supermarket, but either way they demand to be put on the page.”

Described as "effortlessly whimsical" and “instantly familiar”, her work is in indian ink on cartridge paper, drawn with traditional fountain nib pens and Japanese calligraphy brushes. All of her work is original - no prints - so each piece, just like their creator, is individual and unique.

“So when I say a little birds been talking to me, it’s not that I have any fabulous office gossip, just an irritable little bird asking to be immortalised in ink. And here they are - gazing back at you with melancholy looks and devil may care attitude, just begging to go home with you... anything for a bit of peace! Hmmm, now for a cuppa!”

Sharon's Blog - http://creativefoxblog.blogspot.com houses all her latest thoughts, her gallery and also acts as an online sketchbook.  You can also follow Creative Fox on Twitter thecreativefox
